FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS MOBILE PHYSICAL THERAPY?

In mobile physical therapy practice, PTs go to their patients instead of having patients visit an outpatient clinic. Mobile physical therapy enables PTs to provide one-on-one services at their patients’ convenience. They might visit patients at home, dance studio, or even at the office, depending on their schedule and condition. During sessions, mobile PTs help patients learn how to use everyday objects to assist exercises but also provide any specialized equipment needed for the patient to meet their physical therapy goals.

DO I NEED PHYSICAL THERAPY OR WELLNESS SESSIONS?

The simplest question that you can ask yourself to determine which one is appropriate for you is, "do I have pain or an injury that has to be treated?" If the answer is "Yes," a physical therapy session is the right one for you. A physical therapy session involves hands-on massages and manual therapy in addition to exercises, stretches, and other treatments to reduce pain and improve movement in the problem area. In contrast, the focus of a wellness session is to optimize your health and wellness while preventing injuries. After a comprehensive movement assessment, a personalized exercise program and appropriate education will be given to improve your mobility and strength in order to achieve your goal.

WHAT TYPES OF HEALTH INSURANCE DO YOU ACCEPT?

Therapy en Pointe is NOT contracted with any insurance companies. However, payments may be reimbursable by your insurance company under your out-of-network physical therapy benefits; the exact percentage depends upon your plan. Due to the complex nature of insurance claims and reimbursement, we make no promises as to whether you will receive reimbursement. Payment is due at the time of service, in the form of cash, checks, or credit card.

DO YOU ACCEPT MEDICARE PATIENTS?

Unfortunately, Therapy en Pointe does not accept Medicare patients at this moment.

DO I NEED A DOCTOR’S REFERRAL?

You DO NOT need a physician's referral for wellness sessions. In most cases, physical therapy services also do not require it. Contact us if you have any concerns and let us know how we can help you.
